Stop the press, the Bishops have spoken

What a relief. I thought we would have to wait until after Christmas to hear their worldly opinion. In case you missed it, the Bishops of Ireland have made a timely comment on the topic of same sex marriage. For those of you out of the loop, the people of Ireland are holding a referendum on the matter in 2015.

Irish Water People Power Protest Video

We made a video last weekend to show the people who took to the streets to protest against the privatisation of Irish Water. It was an incredible day and I would guess easily over 100,000 people were there. This is the kind of shit you get up to when you stop drinking for a while. You stop worrying about the gargle and worrying about other things. Personally I love it. And I love to see the people of Ireland finally galvanising themselves and standing up to the corporate bankers who are calling the shots.

If one of us goes to war…we all go to war

An Indian Corporation can destroy the Great Barrier Reef

Did you know that the company which owns the lease for Abbot Point Port in Queensland is an Indian Multi National Corporation? The man at the helm, Guatam Adani, is the 6th richest man in India. They have recently been granted permission by the Queensland Government to expand the Port.

This may not seem too disturbing, but the issue is that this company want to dump up to 5 million tonnes of dredge waste from this upgrade into the National Park which surrounds the Great Barrier Reef. Of course the company have produced “peer reviewed scientific studies” which show that no harm will come of this.

Today is the Day

Ah the New Year. It comes around so soon….so many memories from the last and dreams for the current. What will happen? Who will win? How will I do? It is impossible to know the future, but you can prepare for success. And shit loads of it.

I saw a recent comment here and some guy said..” this all sounds too much like some ‘life coachery’ stuff which makes me cringe , ( just some thaughts ,fly on the wall stuff , )”.

I freakin’ cringed myself reading that. Is that what I had become? Over the course of 4 years writing here I have shocked, thrilled, disappointed, inspired, saddened, bored and amused – but I never thought someone would take me for a “life coachery” type of guy.
